Wall Street helped best GMAC Rescue Plan

Shares in the Wall Street moving towards stronger closing in 2008. Announcement of the plan to rescue General Motors and business financing unit GMAC, in the spirit of giving this year.

In trading Wednesday (20/12/2008), the index Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) closed stronger 184.38 points (2.67%) to a level of 8668.39, Nasdaq stronger 40.38 points (2.67%) to 1550 levels , 70, and the Standard & Poor’s 500 appreciated 21.21 points (2.44%) to the 890.63 level.

Very thin trade shares in the New York Stock Exchange that is only 948.8 million shares, below the average 1.90 billion years ago. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq, transactions reached 1.4 billion shares below the average 2.17 billion years ago.


Bush announced the government will increase the loan up to U.S. $ 1 billion to General Motors, while taking share business unit GM, GMAC up to U.S. $ 5 billion. What’s making GM shares rose to 5.6%, Ford also increased 3.2%.

“News to become the largest GMAC,” said Steve Sachs, director of trading at Rydex Investments, as quoted from Reuters, Wednesday (31/12/2008).

Dow Chemical, which in the previous trading after a sharp decline batalnya cooperation with Kuwait until the end of Rebound 1.5%.
