Obama urged to announce Date Closing Guantanamo

Amnesty International institutions on Friday requested the U.S. president-elect Barack Obama to announce the date for closing Guantanamo Bay. – Owned by U.S., prison in Cuba that will not soon be seven years.
Human rights groups that have Obama to mention the date of closing Guantanamo he was on 20 January.
“We’re not the impossible. Barack Obama has stated decision to remove some errors that have been passed by the U.S. government in the name of national security and we will have to change that commitment into reality,” said Amnesty Secretary General, Irene Khan, as reported AFP.
“Closing Guantanamo will mark the beginning of a good break from past policies prisoners, but only if it is done in a way that is fully meet the international obligations of the U.S.,” said Khan.
“It’s a great start small: do not have the creation of more Guantanamo with other names in other places.”
Obama has expressed desires to close Guantanamo and Robert Gates has ordered the adjuvant months ago to prepare plans for closing the facility.
Prison opened in January 2002 to hold them as suspected “enemies” by the U.S. troops and partners around the world in the action called “war on terror.”
Amnesty also announced a group of human rights that have been holding demonstrations this weekend to mark the seventh anniversary, with events in Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Spain and Turkey.
